About the Book:
Ten Minutes That Transform
When Jesus answered the Pharisee’s question concerning the greatest commandment, He quoted: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:36, Deuteronomy 6:5). When tempted in the wilderness, He quoted three passages from Deuteronomy to resist each temptation (Matthew 4:1-11). If the sinless Son of God used the Word of God to do battle with the evil one and to reason with critics, would not that be a good pattern for our children and us?
Following the “greatest commandment” in Deuteronomy, God gives profound and practical instruction for parents: “These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your heart. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (6:6-7). This book is written to equip parents in applying this scriptural truth.
